Welcome to the websites of the medieval band Quercus
Quercus is a medieval music band consisting of four professional musicians from Písek. The band plays medieval secular songs and dances in their own arrangements with the effort to bring this music closer to today´s listeners.
In their performances they use replicas of historical instruments and are dressed in typical costumes of medieval period.
Their music is suitable for concerts, festivals, town celebrations, and also for the pub, banquets, weddings, parties and parades.
Our repertoire includes:
- songs and dances of Medieval Europe - France, England, Spain, Germany and Italy
- songs of Trouveres,Troubadours and Minnesingers; songs from the extant historical collections
- songs with different themes: religious, spiritual, love, sometimes erotic, satirical, edifying...
